Financial clarity for oncology patients — and the teams supporting them.

Cancer care creates a fragmented financial journey across bills, EOBs, receipts, portals, and assistance programs. Remio brings that picture together into one patient-centered record — provided through the organizations supporting their care.

Patients never pay for Remio.

Built by a cancer patient during active treatment. Because this problem is personal.

The Problem

Oncology financial navigation is working harder than the infrastructure around it.

Fragmented documents

Bills, EOBs, receipts, portal messages, and payment records arrive from different places at different times — with no single place to see the full picture.

Manual reconstruction

Financial navigators and assistance programs are left manually gathering documents, explaining confusing balances, and reconstructing the patient's financial picture from scratch.

Delayed clarity

The result is missed overpayments, incomplete assistance context, and additional strain on patients and the teams supporting them.

Financial toxicity in cancer care is well documented. The daily workflow behind it is still fragmented.

Remio is built to organize that workflow around the patient.

How Remio Works

One patient-centered financial picture. Two connected layers.

LAYER 01Financial picture layer

Patient Financial Picture

EOBs, bills, receipts, payments, providers, and balances — organized into one patient-centered record, in language patients and families can understand.

  • Which documents have been uploaded and which may be missing
  • Where patient payments may exceed insurance-adjudicated responsibility
  • Where assistance may be needed or already applied
  • What the patient and navigator need to review next

Not another portal. Not another billing system.

A financial clarity layer that follows the patient across the care journey.

LAYER 02Action layer

Action + Navigation Workflow

Once the picture is organized, Remio helps turn confusion into next steps.

  • Drafted refund request emails to provider billing departments
  • Missing document follow-up surfaced automatically
  • Balance review and assistance-readiness checks
  • Navigator-facing patient summaries
  • Longitudinal tracking from first document through resolution
  • Bilingual support in English and Spanish at launch

The human work stays human. Remio gives navigators and care teams a cleaner picture to work from.

Who Remio Is Built For

Built for oncology organizations. Provided to patients.

Remio is licensed by cancer centers, foundations, and patient-support organizations — not sold directly to patients. When an organization partners with Remio, patients receive access as part of their care experience.

Cancer centers & oncology practices

Your financial navigators and social workers are already doing this work — gathering documents, explaining balances, identifying where support is needed. Remio gives them a clearer financial picture before the conversation starts. Less time reconstructing the story. More time helping the patient move forward.

Foundations & patient assistance programs

Organizations distributing financial assistance need accurate patient financial context. Remio organizes EOBs, bills, receipts, payment records, and assistance documentation so support can be applied with better visibility. The assistance you are already providing lands on stronger documentation.

Revenue cycle & administrative leaders

Patient credit balances, unresolved overpayments, and fragmented payment records create operational friction. Remio helps surface possible overpayment situations from the patient side of the record and supports cleaner follow-up with billing departments.

Remio does not create new refund obligations — it helps identify, document, and resolve existing ones.

Clinicians & care teams

When a patient is struggling with the financial side of treatment, there should be somewhere trusted to send them. Remio gives oncology teams a simple place to point patients for financial organization, navigation support, and next-step clarity.

Why Remio Exists

Built from lived experience.

During cancer treatment, the financial side of care becomes its own second job. Bills arrive weeks after visits. EOBs do not match receipts. Payments are scattered across providers. Refunds sit unresolved for months while patients are focused on getting well.

Remio was built during active chemotherapy treatment at AIS Cancer Center in Bakersfield, California — using real EOBs, real receipts, and real overpayment questions from the founder's own treatment.

Prototype Discovery

$418

An overpayment the founder did not know he was owed — surfaced in the first working prototype using his own Aetna EOB and provider receipt.

This is not just a patient education problem. It is not just an advocacy problem. It is a fragmentation problem. And fragmentation can be fixed.

"Remio follows the patient, not the facility."

Why Now

The data exists. The patient-centered layer does not.

Healthcare financial data is becoming more accessible and more standardized through regulatory and interoperability changes. But access alone does not create clarity.

Patients still receive fragmented bills, EOBs, receipts, and payment records from different places at different times. Remio is building the reconciliation layer that turns those scattered documents into a coherent patient record.

Outcomes + Research

Financial clarity should be measurable.

Remio is designed to track the financial side of cancer care from first document upload through review, action, and resolution.

The goal is to turn fragmented billing experiences into structured, patient-level evidence that can support navigation teams, foundation partners, and future financial toxicity research.
